Game Plan


I have decided once and for all, an MBA is for me. I am going to give it serious prep and push myself to all extreme levels to attain an MBA from any of the top ten B schools in India or atleast the top 20 in the U.S. The colleges I have shortlisted are in the following order:

  • Kellog school of business management

  • MIT Sloan college

  • UCB Haas College

  • ISB Hyderabad

  • S.P Jain --> Dubai, Singapore and Bombay


Did I forget to mention the IIM's, Jamnalal Bajaj, Harvard, Wharton e.t.c. Most of you might say that "oh! what a kidder I am?" but I aint kidding anymore. I am just a wastrel. I was kidding myself all the time that I could make it to the top without lifting a finger. But not anymore, tomorrow I begin a new leash of my life and ensure that patience (I truly lack) kicks in and eventually accomplish all my goals. What my goals are???? you ask. If I tell you I would have to kill you. On a serious note and an ode to the Rocky series, "I am a fighter and that's all I know what to do ".

SQL Server 2012 Power View Installation with Sharepoint 2010

Oh Oh (Jaane Jaana the song just came to my mind)..... Installing powerview on Sharepoint 2010 with SQL server 2012 turned out to be a nightmare. Since I was doing the install on my local m/c, things became more harder than usual as I do not have enough memory to scatter around. So let me explain the steps I went through and the effort I had to exert in playing around with PowerView.       I had SQL Server 2008 R2 installed with Sharepoint 2010 on my machine. Just for folks out there who do not want to uninstall their current SQL server version and especially if it is 2008, ensure that you install SQL Server 2008 SP2 before installing SQL Server 2012 (I am going to refer to it with the term "Denali" from this point on). Load Data into Azure DW using C# in an SSIS script task

Now there are a lot of reasons why SSIS needs to be leveraged for loading data into the Azure DW platform. Even though Polybase and Azure Data factory are the core criteria's, here are the templates for the SSIS script task that were leveraged to load data (full and incremental into Azure DW) for a specific customer rather than using the data flow task: SSIS Full Load script : SSIS Incremental Load script : There are a few reasons for this approach and one of them being that the existing package was using a similar structure and one not to be deviated from. The other being that some key logging aspects needed to be handled in a Legacy platform that could not be decommissioned at that time.
